I played for Richmond this season in the VPL and it has been a great experience. The VPL is a similar level to Conference North/National league with many professional players including some with international experience. It was a extremely competitive league with everyone seemingly capable of beating each other on the day. I personaly enjoyed a good season but the pace and style of the football took some getting used too. The club themselves were excellent and have really looked after me and my partner Leanne. They made us feel very welcome when we arrived in Melbourne. Away from football the trip has been great fun. Highlights have included a road trip down the great ocean road, 3 musical events including Future and Winter wonderland. We also have enjoyed a great trip to Sydney which including a tour of the Opera House and a frightening walk OVER ther Sydney Harbour Bridge. Before we return to the UK we plan to visit the famous Gold Coast at the end of October and then back to Sydney for New Years Eve. We are also looking into the possibility of extending our visa for a further year. I would recommend to anyone thinking of coming over that they give it a go. Playing in Australia is a once in a lifetime opportunity and we have had a great time
