The Victorian Premier Leagues minor semi final between, Hume City and Heidelberg United ended with a solid 2-0 home win for Hume, the game was sealed within 43 minutes as Alfonzo Opazo, kicked off proceedings with a neatly taken goal on the 19th minute. The game was taken further from Heidelberg’s reach when Turhan Sumbal scored the 2nd on the 43rd minute. No other goals occurred during the game.
The major semi-final between Richmond and Green Gully Cavaliers was a spectacle for the fans. Richmond took a late lead on the 60th minute courtesy of a Michael Ferrante finish, however Green Gully responded twice within ten minutes to take the lead and a spot in the final. Steven Burton and Jason Hayne were the goal-scorers for Green Gully.
In the Brisbane Premier League, Redlands United have turned their season around completely this past several weeks, with yet another exciting win for the Cleveland Showground faithful. However it wasn’t without its nervy edge. Redlands took a 5-0 lead with Oz Soccer Experience player Hayden Eames getting the 5th on the 70th minute. The game looked done and dusted however, Taringa Rovers werenet ready to give up without a fight and within 30 minutes reduced the score difference with 3 quick goals to give Redlands a last minute scare.
In the West Australian Premier League, Oz Soccer Experience club, Sorrento SC, had an unfortunate loss at the wrong time of year this week, suffering a disappointing loss to local rivals ECU Joondalup. Joondalup took the game with a 4-3 win at home to the Gulls, however Oz Soccer experience signee, Adam Hayton managed to get himself on the scoresheet again this season taking the scoreline to 3-1 in Sorrentos favour, however Joondalup put up a huge fight and managed to get the win late on.
Stirling Lions proved once again they hold a strong case for a league championship with an excellent 3-2 win over Mandurah City. Oz Soccer player, Bobby Wilson, who has also starred for the west Australian state XI against A league outfit Perth Glory, scored the much needed winner on the 92nd minute.
Balcatta on the other hand suffered a heavy loss at the hands of perennial powerhouse, Floreat Athena, losing 4-0.
In the West Australian Division 1, League leaders Bunbury Forum Force had a heart breaking 3-2 loss away at Gosnells City. The final weeks of division 1 are even more tense now with Bayswater City taking a 3-1 win away to Morley Windmills. The race for premier league footballs is really heating up with only 2 more games to go, both teams will be giving their all for the remainder of the season.
