THE BEST OF THE STATE LEAGUES
THE BEST OF THE STATE LEAGUES:
Australian Soccer Experience club, Northcote City in the Victorian Premier League were outstanding this weekend, beating the powerful Sunshine Georgies convincingly with a 3-0 win at home. Two late goals for Northcote City helped confirm the 3 points and keep them on track for a finals position. Stuart Nicholson of the Australian soccer Experience featured throughout the game.
It was also a successful week for Dandenong Thunder, another Australian Soccer Experience club in the VPL. Narrowly beating the high scoring Altona Magic 1-0 at home. Ibrahim Irraimi scored on the stroke of half time which proved to be enough to earn the win. Australian Soccer Experience striker and VPL powerhouse Jamie Reed featured in the game but unusual for Jamie did not get on the score-sheet this week.
However round 17 didn’t prove as successful for Australian Soccer Experience club, South Melbourne. Falling 2-0 away courtesy of a Nick Marinos double. The prolific Australian Soccer Experience signee, Kyle Joryeff featured in the game but was unable to change the final score.
Things are looking up for Australian Soccer Experience club, Redlands United as they finished up 4-2 winners over Brisbane City at home this weekend. Australian Soccer Experience signee Hayden Eames played his part in this vital win, adding the third goal for Redlands early in the second half. Other signees involved in the game were Nevin Saroya and Jack Lyons, the past several weeks have been tough on Redlands however this win was a huge leap in the right direction, which will hopefully continue in time for the play off finals.
In the South Australian Super League, Australian Soccer Experience club and Chris Middleton shared the points with Para Hills Knights. The strong Adelaide outfit were unable to convert the many chances they had to earn full points however there season has been strong throughout and a finals place seems highly likely for the well fancied club. Chris Middleton of the Australian Soccer Experience has been a stalwart for the club, quickly earning a reputation as a hard working and effective footballer.
Australian Soccer Experience club, Sorrento SC in the Western Australian Premier League suffered a harsh defeat away in the hills of Armadale. Falling 3-1 to the perennial league strugglers will have been a hard pill to swallow for Sorrento, however there season has been consistently good this year and a place in the play offs seems assured.
Unfortunately for the newly promoted Balcatta SC, two very early goals by regional side Mandurah City proved Balcatta’s undoing. Falling 2-0 away within 15 minutes at Mandurah will always prove a slippery slope to climb, and this week was no different, leaving the Australian Soccer Experience club with a lot to think about at the training ground this week. Despite this loss their first year in the premier league has been an excellent one, more than holding their own against some of the giants in WA football.
For League leaders and Australian Soccer Experience club, Stirling Lions it as business as usual winning 1-0 at home thanks to a second half injury time goal by Mario Marcinko. Striling have spent big this season and the results are showing week in week out. All 3 Australian Soccer Experience stars featured in this game, who are spoken highly of throughout the league.
Western Australia Division 1 league leaders Bunbury Forum Force dropped 2 points away at Forrestfield United this week ending the game with a 2-2 draw. They were lucky to snatch the points as they fell 2-0 down within 60 minutes. However a late double by David Rogers saved the club from a complete heartache as his equalizer hit the back of the net, 2 year Australian Soccer Experience Signee, Oliver McGee featured in this game as did newcomers Neil Chappell and Jordan Rispin. The regional club will however have to ensure they take full points in the next few weeks as 2nd placed Bayswater City are breathing down Bunburys necks, especially after their 5-1 smashing of the struggling Queens Park, Gustavo Maralunda scoring yet another hat-trick proving to be their saving grace in their race to beat Bunbury Forum Force to promotion into the Premier league.
