About The Australian Soccer Experience
- Question: How is The Australian Soccer Experience going to develop my career?
- Answer: To be honest we are not looking to provide players with career development opportunities. Some players will benefit from the doors that open for them once they arrive in Australia but that is down to the player and their good fortune. The Australian Soccer Experience's core business is providing players with the opportunity to have a once in a lifetime experience (holiday). Players that are flexible with their travel arrangements and interested in more than the cash on offer will get most from the experience.

- Question: How much will I be paid? What other benefits are on offer?
- Answer: When clubs sign up they are asked to specify the salary range that they are offering (NB the majority of clubs who have signed up to date won’t offer any salary).
In addition we ask them about other benefits such as flight refunds, accommodation provision/subsidies, paid (non-football) work, paid junior coaching opportunities etc. What you ultimately receive though is determined by your own negotiations with the club (through us). You are not obliged to accept any offers you aren't happy with.

- Question: I haven't received any offers from the level I have been targeting, what are my other options?
- Answer: If you are interested in playing football in Australia then you have probably already decided that football isn’t going to be the only thing in your life. You may have even already decided to come to Australia regardless of whether we can find you a club.
Amateur clubs want players who will add quality to their team. If you select an amateur club you will most likely be the first name on the team sheet, players will look up to you, coaches will build teams around you and in many cases you might find that the clubs social schedule is as important.
Amateur football clubs can offer nearly all of the benefits semi-pro clubs can and socially (it is a holiday after all) they often offer a lot more.

Registration Hints and Tips
- Question: Does it help if I add images to my profile?
- Answer: Absolutely! A picture or two of you in action shows your build etc. and re-enforces the information you provide. If you don't have pictures at the time of registration but want to add them later feel free to send them to info@ozsoccerexperience.com and we'll add them

- Question: What is the minimum I'd accept?
- Answer: When adding specific items that you would like to receive as part of an offer from a club ask yourself what the minimum you'd accept would be. Many people say they want flights and accommodation as part of an offer but both of these things cost the club up front and they are yet to read your references let alone see you play. By listing the minimum you'd expect you may be able to negotiate with multiple clubs - that is the time to start talking about some of the luxury items. Flights for instance are rarely offered and when they are it is only for players at the very top end of the market.

- Question: What sort of references should I provide?
- Answer: The references are only intended to be a first pass for the clubs that are interested in you. Web pages showing your club profile, a match report of a game you played in or YouTube footage is ideal as they allow the club to get a feel for your background. If the club is interested it is likely they will ask you for more specific information when they get in touch.

- Answer: You must have access to sufficient funds to support yourself for the initial stage of your holiday. Generally, AUD$5,000 (approx £2000) may be regarded as sufficient, but the amount may vary depending on your length of stay and the extent of your travel. You should also have a return/onward ticket or the funds for a fare to depart Australia at the time of entry.
You may be asked to provide evidence of this. Evidence may include a certified copy of a bank statement and an air ticket out of Australia. You do not need to have your funds in an Australian bank at the time of arrival.

Immediately necessary treatment means any ill-health or injury which occurs while you are in Australia and requires treatment before you return home.
